Technique & Approach #7

An assortment of Architectural Inspired captures from around Brisbane.

Shot recently on Ilford HP5 PLUS, Canon A1. Developed at a local lab, scanned at home. Photoshop CC edits of curves and levels (personal) to suit each image.

Brisbane is growing. 70-210mm Sigma FD Lens.

Looking through a window, early morning before the enclave of weekenders for breakfast or brunch. Newstead, Brisbane Qld.

In the foreground, firstly a temporary fence, a powerlifting crane (under progress) and expanding Brisbane. Finally (but certainly not least of all) a power line tower transporting high voltage across the river / vice versa.

New and old. Repurposed Structures like this one.

Just nearby, the former frame. Standing tall. Constructed in the late 1800s. Now a memento from the past, an icon of Brisbane. Marking a shopping, café, restaurant precinct. A centre piece, now lined with coloured lights to set the night alight with colour.

The form of lines, shot wide for drama. But mostly to fit it all in.

Post edit done in such a way to maintain the bright sun shine in great. A hint of light atop the left top corner building. Each with their own dominating presence.

My background in multimedia/ IT, blending digital and analogue techniques is something that comes natural. After scanning, applying curve / level adjustments to fine tune the image. Scanning doesn't always produce a favourable result.
